The earth, they say,

Spins round and round,

It doesn’t look like it,

From the ground,

And it never makes

Any spinning sounds.

The water never

Swirls or swishes,

From oceans full of dizzy fishes

.Nor do shelves lose

The pans and dishes.

And houses don’t go

Whirling by,

Or puppies swirl around the sky,

Or robins spin instead of fly.

Yet all the while,

Without a sound,

The Earth still spins,

Round and round.
