One cannot vomit with an empty stomach. Similarly, we only speak about the things we know about. Our words reflect our opinions, thoughts, perception and values. The knowledge one gains shapes that person. Likewise, a person can only speak what he/she is aware of. A three year old child most certainly cannot talk about feminism, astro-physics or even the basic rules of grammar, right? Our choice of words portrays our intelligence, hence it helps us outline what our principles are and on what point we stand on a certain topic. For instance, the answer of a woman in Afghanistan about gender discrimination will vary largely with the answers of a woman living in Switzerland. Our choice of words is what forms the perception of us among various individuals. We speak what we know about and we speak what we think about.
